Marketplace Ads
Managing product and search ads on marketplaces' own ad screens, such as Trendyol, Hepsiburada, Amazon and N11.
We manage the ads on marketplaces like Trendyol and Hepsiburada so your product shows up at the top.
What are Marketplace Ads and where do they run?
Marketplace ads run in the platform's own on-site search results and category pages. The buyer is already on that platform with purchase intent; the competition happens in product ranking.
What we do
- Setup and organization of marketplace ad accounts
- Launching product and search ad campaigns
- Keyword, category and bid management
- Tracking ad cost per product
- Merging reports with seller-panel data
AI support
We use AI-powered tools in campaign setup and daily optimization: audience breakdowns, creative variations, bid strategy and budget allocation are managed together with the platform's machine-learning signals. The decision stays with us; the execution and test volume go to the AI.
How we measure
- Advertising cost of sales per product (ACoS)
- Comparison of advertised vs. non-advertised sales
- Conversion by keyword
Budget and ad spend
The package fee is a management service; the ad budget paid to the platform is separate and spent directly from your own account. We set the ad budget together and show the spend line by line in the report.
Trendyol, Hepsiburada, Amazon and N11 ads
Each marketplace has its own ad interface and rules; but the logic is similar: your product is promoted in the platform's search results and category pages.
- Which products get advertised is chosen based on sales history, review rating and stock.
- Keyword and category bids are set at the product level.
- Budgets and bids are planned in advance for the platforms' campaign periods.
On a marketplace, competing stores bid on the same keywords. Instead of constantly raising bids, we track ad-driven and non-ad sales together and check whether the ad is only selling a product that would have sold anyway; if needed, we shift the budget to another product.
The product page comes before marketplace ads
Ads put the product in front of people, but the product page makes the sale. What we check before launching ads:
- That the product title includes the words buyers search for
- That the images are sharp and also show the product in use
- That the description and attribute fields are filled in completely
- How the price and delivery time compare with competitors
- Monitoring of the review rating and the Q&A section
If these areas are weak, ads bring clicks but not sales; we report what needs fixing first.
Before campaign periods, we also check stock and pricing together; no ad budget goes to a product whose stock won't last.
How do you advertise on Trendyol, Hepsiburada and N11?
Marketplace ads are run from the advertising section of each platform’s seller panel: an ad budget is set, the products to be advertised are selected and bids are adjusted. No separate agency ad account is opened; the work runs through your own store’s panel.
- A separate user with only the necessary permissions is created for the agency in the seller panel; the main account password is not shared.
- In the advertising section, the budget and payment method are set up according to the platform’s rules.
- Products to advertise are selected based on stock, review rating, price competitiveness and margin.
- We start with the automatic targeting offered by the panel, and as search terms build up we move on to keyword-level bids and negative keywords.
- A budget calendar is prepared in advance for sale periods and the platform’s discount days.
Which product should you start advertising with?
The first ad budget goes to products that already sell organically, have good review ratings and enough stock. Pushing a new product with no sales history through ads is possible but more expensive; we plan this with a separate budget and time frame. A product priced noticeably above competitors may get clicks from ads but will struggle to convert into sales.
Amazon ads
On Amazon, ads are run through Seller Central or the Amazon Ads console. Sponsored Products promotes individual products in search results; sellers with a registered brand can also use brand formats such as Sponsored Brands. We check on an account basis which formats are available in which marketplace.
Is ACoS enough? TACoS and the real contribution of ads
ACoS only looks at ad-driven sales; to see the effect of ads on the store’s total sales, TACoS, the ratio of total ad spend to total sales, should also be tracked. Read together, they show whether ads are bringing in new sales or just taking credit for sales that would have happened anyway.
- If TACoS falls as ACoS falls, the ads are working efficiently and organic sales are growing.
- If ACoS looks good but TACoS is rising, ads may have started to replace organic sales.
- Break-even ACoS is equal to the product’s margin after commission, shipping and cost are deducted. ACoS above the margin means a loss on every ad-driven sale.
Since marketplace commission varies by category, we calculate this threshold separately for each product group. In the first weeks of a new product, spending above the threshold can be a deliberate choice to build up sales and review history; we set the duration and limit of this in advance.
Say the share left from a product’s selling price after commission, shipping and cost is one fifth. When the ratio of ad spend to ad-driven sales for this product exceeds that share, every ad-driven sale starts to lose money. We set bid limits based on this calculation.
The first 90 days of marketplace ads management
In the first three months, the goal is to find which products grow profitably with ads and to concentrate the budget on them. The report is prepared by combining data from the ads panel with order and return data from the seller panel.
First 30 days
Product pages are checked and any gaps are reported. Ads are launched on a limited number of products with automatic targeting, and search terms start to be collected.
Days 30–60
Search terms that bring in sales are managed with separate, controlled bids, and those that do not are excluded. For example, if an adult model is being shown for the search “children’s shoes” in a shoe store, that term is added as a negative for that product, so the click budget does not go to irrelevant searches. Products that consistently exceed the break-even point are removed from ads or have their bids lowered.
Days 60–90
Budget is moved to products that lower TACoS. Results from the platform’s sale periods are evaluated separately, and the stock, price and bid plan for the next period are prepared together. At this stage we also separately track new customers brought to the store by ads and buyers who order again; on marketplaces, repeat purchases are the main factor that lets ad costs pay back over time.
What is in the monthly report?
The report covers spend, ad-driven sales, ACoS and TACoS by marketplace; status against the break-even point by product; search terms that bring in sales and those that have been excluded; and the impact of returns and cancellations. The gaps we have spotted on product pages and our budget and product recommendations for the following month are in the final section of the report.
Our work process
-
Account and tracking setup
The ad account, pixel/tag and conversion events are set up. If tracking isn't accurate, optimization will be wrong too; this step is never skipped.
-
Strategy and campaign structure
Target audience, budget allocation, campaign types and the creative plan are defined together.
-
Launch and testing
Campaigns go live; audience and creative variations are tested against each other.
-
Weekly optimization
Budget, bids, audiences and creatives are reviewed weekly; underperformers are paused.
-
Monthly report
Spend, conversions and cost items are brought together in a single report, and next month's plan is written.
