LinkedIn Ads
LinkedIn campaigns for business-to-business (B2B) sales: targeting by title, industry and company size.
If you sell to businesses, we get you in front of people with the right job titles on LinkedIn.
What are LinkedIn Ads and where do they run?
LinkedIn ads run as sponsored posts in the feed, sponsored messages in the inbox, and text ads. Click costs are higher than other channels; in return, targeting granularity reaches the job-title level.
What we do
- Campaign Manager and Insight Tag setup
- Audience building by title/industry/company
- Sponsored content and Lead Gen Form design
- Planning the follow-up flow after a form is filled
- Monitoring audience saturation
AI support
We use AI-powered tools in campaign setup and daily optimization: audience breakdowns, creative variations, bid strategy and budget allocation are managed together with the platform's machine-learning signals. The decision stays with us; the execution and test volume go to the AI.
How we measure
- Cost per qualified form
- Conversion rate by audience segment
- Campaign frequency and saturation
Budget and ad spend
The package fee is a management service; the ad budget paid to the platform is separate and spent directly from your own account. We set the ad budget together and show the spend line by line in the report.
Who are LinkedIn ads right for?
- B2B products and services where companies make the buying decision: software, consulting, industrial products, corporate training
- Companies that want to reach a specific job title or industry
- Recruitment and employer branding campaigns
- Event, webinar and report download campaigns
Because click costs are high, Meta or Google is usually more efficient for low-priced products sold to individual consumers.
Collecting qualified leads on LinkedIn
On LinkedIn the goal isn't clicks but inquiries from the right people. To get there:
- The Lead Gen Form asks only for the fields that are truly needed; too many fields make people abandon the form.
- The audience is narrowed by job title, seniority, industry and company size; an audience that's too narrow raises costs, so the balance is found through testing.
- A follow-up flow is set up so your sales team can get back to form submitters quickly; leads should be called before they go cold.
- Whether the people who come in through the form become customers is tracked separately in the report.
Because the audience on LinkedIn is small, results build up more slowly than on other channels. We don't change campaigns at short intervals; we change them once enough data has been collected to make a meaningful comparison.
How do you advertise on LinkedIn? Setting up Campaign Manager
To advertise on LinkedIn, you open a Campaign Manager ad account linked to your company’s LinkedIn Page, add a payment method and set up your first campaign in the campaign group, campaign and ad structure. Because Sponsored Content in the feed is shown in the name of the company Page, the Page first needs to be up to date and complete.
- The company Page’s logo, description and website details are completed.
- An ad account is opened in Campaign Manager and the Page is linked to it; role-based access is set up for the team and the agency.
- The Insight Tag is added to the site, and conversions such as form submissions and quote requests are defined.
- The campaign objective is chosen: brand awareness, website visits, engagement, video views, lead generation or website conversions.
- The audience is built: job title, seniority, industry, company size, or uploaded company and contact lists.
LinkedIn requires an audience of at least 300 people for a campaign to go live. To avoid hitting this limit with very narrowly defined audiences, we review the breakdowns together.
Targeting with your own data
Three sources are used in the Matched Audiences section of Campaign Manager. A company list is made up of the names of companies you want to sell to. A contact list is made up of email addresses you have collected with consent and must be prepared in line with personal data protection rules. A website audience is made up of people who visit your site, thanks to the Insight Tag, and is used for retargeting.
LinkedIn ad formats and how costs work
LinkedIn ads appear in the feed, in the messaging inbox and in the right-hand column; each format serves a different purpose. Depending on the chosen bidding method, you pay per thousand impressions, per click or per send for sponsored messages, and the amount is set by auction.
Feed formats
- Single image, video and carousel ads: for promoting a service or product.
- Document ads: showing the first pages of a report, catalogue or guide in the feed and asking for a form for the full version.
- Thought Leader ads: promoting a post by one of your executives or employees as an ad.
Messaging and right-hand column formats
- Conversation ads: sponsored messages where the recipient moves forward by choosing options; useful for event invitations or demo requests.
- Dynamic ads: shown in the right-hand column on desktop, personalised with the viewer’s name and profile photo; used for Page follows and visits.
On the bidding side, there are maximum delivery, cost cap and manual bidding options. With new accounts, we first observe the platform’s automated bidding and increase control as the cost trend becomes clear.
We choose the format based on the stage of the sales process. An audience that does not know you at all is first offered information or a perspective through a video or document ad; in a second step, people who have watched the content and visited the site are shown a Lead Gen Form for a demo, quote or meeting request. Asking for a sale directly at first contact usually produces expensive, low-quality results on LinkedIn.
The first 90 days of a B2B campaign
On LinkedIn, the goal of the first three months is to find out which job titles and industries actually bring in leads that turn into sales. The number of forms alone is not a measure of success; feedback from your sales team is part of the report during this process.
First 30 days
The Insight Tag and conversions are verified. If you have a target customer list, it is uploaded as a company list. Two or three audiences are launched side by side, each with a few ads.
Days 30–60
People coming in through forms are marked as qualified or unqualified together with the sales team. Job titles and industries that do not bring in qualified leads are removed from the audience.
Days 60–90
People who have visited the site and watched videos are reached again with a second message. Where the setup allows, sales stages in your CRM are also reported back to LinkedIn through the LinkedIn Conversions API, so the platform learns not just who filled in a form but who is moving towards a sale.
What is in the monthly report?
Alongside spend, impressions, clicks and form count, the LinkedIn report includes cost per form, the qualified form rate, the job title and industry split in the audience breakdown, and ad frequency. Qualified leads marked by your sales team are shown separately; which audience should be narrowed or broadened is set out, with the reasoning, in the recommendations section of the report.
Our work process
-
Account and tracking setup
The ad account, pixel/tag and conversion events are set up. If tracking isn't accurate, optimization will be wrong too; this step is never skipped.

Strategy and campaign structure
Target audience, budget allocation, campaign types and the creative plan are defined together.
-
Launch and testing
Campaigns go live; audience and creative variations are tested against each other.
-
Weekly optimization
Budget, bids, audiences and creatives are reviewed weekly; underperformers are paused.
-
Monthly report
Spend, conversions and cost items are brought together in a single report, and next month's plan is written.
