How is the engagement rate calculated?
The most common definition: (likes + comments) ÷ followers × 100. Averaging your last 10 posts gives a more reliable result than a single post — and that is what this calculator does.
What is a good engagement rate?
We do not quote a figure without a source: the rate varies a lot by industry, account size and content type. The meaningful comparison is with your own history — measure the same account month by month and the direction becomes clear.
Are comments or likes more valuable?
Writing a comment takes more effort than liking, so it is a stronger sign of interest. The calculator also shows your comment-to-like ratio separately.
Can I connect my Instagram account?
No — and that is a deliberate choice. Meta has closed the API that provided public profile data; the only remaining way would be to scrape data without permission. Entering your own numbers gives a result that is both accurate and safe.
